826.18 NONCONFORMING SIGNS.

Any sign lawfully existing on the effective date of this chapter which does not conform to all the standards and regulations of this chapter shall be deemed lawfully nonconforming, and shall be subject to the following regulations:

​(a) Minor repairs, message alterations and ordinary maintenance shall be permitted; however, no structural design alterations or changes in the size or shape of the sign shall be permitted except to make the sign comply with the requirements of this chapter.

​(b) If a nonconforming sign is damaged by more than fifty percent (50%) of its replacement value, it shall be removed and shall not be repaired or replaced except in conformance with this chapter.

​(c) Any nonconforming sign which is structurally altered, relocated or replaced shall comply with all of the provisions of this chapter as if it were a new sign.
