828.01 DEFINITIONS.

​(a) As used in this chapter:

​(1) “Canvasser” and “solicitor” mean a person traveling from place to place in the Municipality, taking or attempting to take orders in person or by telephone for the sale of goods, wares, merchandise or personal property of any nature, for future delivery, or for services to be furnished or performed in the future.

​(2) “Cold canvass” means the uninvited telephone contact of a person by a can vasser or solicitor not having a place of business in the Municipality.

​(3) “Peddler” means any person who carries with him or her, for the purpose of sale and immediate delivery, goods, wares or merchandise, including the peddling and sale of goods, wares and merchandise from a motor vehicle.

​(b) The following persons are not included in the definitions contained in subsection (a) hereof:

​(1) A person making sales of bakery goods or dairy products for daily household consumption; and

​(2) Minors under the age of eighteen years who are members of recognized nonprofit organizations, such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Camp Fire Girls and others of like nature, when selling or taking orders for products in connection with a program sponsored by such organizations.
